Following a successful Custom Charter, Squallys was brought on to bring the Seawind 1600 BumBle from LA to San Francisco. This north-bound route is littered with hazards, including strong NW winds, oil rigs, marine traffic, and the infamous Point Conception. Shelter is limited. Strong local knowledge and decision-making skills are key to a peaceful and safe journey.
About 48 hours into our journey, the house battery bank decided to pack it in. BumBle was safely brought into safe harbor in Morro Bay, CA, where she promptly lost a propeller. Captain Ben was able to arrange for dock space in the tiny town and successfully dock the 52’ catamaran with one engine. Repairs on the propeller and battery bank were completed with the help of contractors, and the delivery was swiftly finished with the help of some quickly sourced local crew.
